All about Addie

Thanks to Neil and Jen for reminding me that I didn't say anything about little Sigrid's development! I tend to be extremely absent-minded and forgetful these days.

1. Yes, she is still moving quite a bit. Every ultrasound tells us she is head down, and I can feel her little feet kicking around my rib cage as further proof. Occasionally, her little bottom will jut out, creating a large round lump, usually on my right side. Sources say she will move around a little less as time goes on, and her space diminishes (it's true, she isn't flipping around anymore, just stretching her limbs and doing baby aerobics).
2. She has the hiccups, often. You know how every once in a while, your eyeball will twitch? Well, her hiccups feel like stomach twitches, prolonged stomach twitches. I wish I could help her get over them!
3. Sources say she now ways about 4 1/2 pounds and is about 18 - 19 inches long.
4. She is starting to put on weight, adding layers of baby fat, so she won't be all skinny and wrinkly when she's born.
5. She has eyelashes, and can blink and see and respond to light.
6. At our last ultrasound, we could see her little lungs working, breathing amniotic fluid in and out, to practice for her new life in a few weeks!
7. Her fingernails are fully grown in (probably her toenails too)!
8. She likes to keep her hands by her face, and suck her thumb.
9. The ultrasound measurement revealed her head to still be about a week (in size) beyond her actual due date, so I am curious to see if her head is extra big. If so, it just means she'll be cuter and smarter :)
10. Her ultrasound pictures stink. Hence I haven't posted any in a while. The bigger she gets, the blurrier the images, even though we can see her on the screen at the time. I guess we'll all just have to wait for the big reveal!

Me (last week) at 33 weeks (Post 1 of 2, see below)

I am huge. Officially huge.

And now, a week later, after weeding through the shower pics, I am having a whale of a moment. A moment in which I sit alone in my apartment feeling like a whale. And I still have six weeks to go!

But I can do sit ups!

And squats!

And lunges!

And that's gotta count for something, right!?

Baby Shower

My baby shower took place this last Saturday. It was really fun.

This is my Career Counselor Friend Sara, who planned the shower for me. She undertook the whole thing on her own, and put so much thought and effort into it! (It was extra work because she was determined to pull off a farm theme, which was no easy task in South Florida!)


No need to mention how much of a tub I look like in that picture - I knew that sweater was a bad idea when I bought it!

And the cake and surrounding scene - crafted of cherry chip cake by my boss' wife - they are pretty good friends. She bought the Fisher Price Little People farm set for us just so she could "properly" decorate the cake! (It was a half-sheet cake - this was just the coolest picture of it).
