entering the 3rd trimester

So, yesterday began the 3rd trimester - I'm 28 weeks, with 12 left! I can hardly believe we'll be joined by a baby girl in a few short months...crazy! She is already crawling around constantly in my stomach - she may be an active little thing!

Without further ado, here are some 28 week photos:

Also, we finally took some pictures in something other than black! I was baking banana bread (the Land of Cotton recipe, but healthed up) and Parker caught me in the apron Mom made me for Christmas:

PS - thanks for your thoughts and prayers last week! Things turned out ok - as they always do - and life is slowing down again, which is so nice!
Love,
Briana

  2. Jennifer is reading a book on ADD. It is actually a lady’s journal from conception through her sons 5th year of life. She was very sick at first and actually lost 8 lbs the 1st trimester. Mom was really sick with me as well. In addition, if you’re not ADD and your sibling and one parent is ADD, you have a 40% chance of having a child who is ADD! Lastly, the baby is moving around a lot. If my calculations are correct, your nameless baby girl has ADD! Now I'm not the only black sheep in the family, me and no name are starting a gang...Dad can join too cause he meets the qualifications.

  3. Neil! LOL

I am shocked you consider yourself the black sheep! I think it's ME!

Beej - ignore him - both my kids moved around...but then they were just too big for their living quarters :)

  5. Give the poor little girl a chance! We, of course, will love her to death if she has ADD or ADHD, but maybe she is also just so happy that she gets to live inside of ME and have ME as her mommy, so she is throwing round the clock parties! Maybe!

  6. it won't let me post a new post, so here's the healthed up part of the banana bread (for a double recipe).

I used 2 1/2 c. whole wheat pastry flour plus 1 1/2 cups regular flour (instead of 4 cups flour)
    I used 1/2 c. nonfat plain yogurt + 1/2 c. crisco (instead of 1 c. crisco)
I used about 2/3 the called-for amount of sugar
I added milled flax seed (fiber and omega 3's)
I used nuts (boosts fiber, protein, and omegas)
I sprinkled whole oats on top (minor, but tasty)

You could use all whole wheat flour, but it makes it less tender and moist. You could also use all yogurt and no canola oil, but this may affect the texture as well. You could probably cut the sugar by 1/2, but not more.

I was contemplating grinding up the oats into flour like we do for dad's famous choc chip cookies, b/c oats and banana go so well together. You could try subbing ground oats for some of the flour.

    Love you!
