Off to School

Tyler drove off a little while ago for Pullman. It seems the last is the hardest to see go off. Everyone wish him well.

Nothing but sweetness at one of our naptimes today. I thought you might appreciate a glimpse...

She is now beginning to watch the mobile! She is more and more alert, beginning to wake up on her own to eat, and moving into a somewhat regular schedule (independent of us...we'll just have to adjust the times a little when I go back to work, and get her a little more regulated, but not much)!

Training for a Marathon and Summer Happenings...

An update on our life....

Neil and I have been having a great summer!! But the hot weather in Spokane has definitely made us ready for fall to come and school to start! We turned in our graduation applications yesterday and we cant believe that we are almost done! We will be graduating March of 2010 with our Bachelor degrees. Only 2 quarters left of school...

We found a great bible study group at our church and have established some great friendships over the summer. Two days ago we went rock climbing with the group and I made it all the way to the top! Yay!! Neil of course made it to the top in lickety split! lol It is a blessing to be able to have christian friends over here!

Another exciting adventure we have been training for is the Portland Marathon. We are 10 weeks into our training schedule and have 8 weeks left. It has been grueling but it has been fun to do this together! We are getting in shape while hanging out together! The Portland Marathon is on October 4th and we are counting down the days!! Be praying we can make it through the training. Last week's 15 mile day was very tough.

I don't have any new pictures to share...we are kinda bad at remembering to take pictures! lol But I will try and remember to bring our camera for a camping trip we are planning for in two weeks.

It seems like everyone is doing good! It is so great to see pictures of Sigrid on here! She is so cute and I cannot wait to meet her! So keep sharing....since that's all I have of her right now. Corey thanks for sharing those pictures of Haley on her first day of school! I cannot believe how much she has grown since I last saw her a year and a half ago!

Play Time

Sigrid tried out her bouncy seat from Auntie Corey today. She was quite captivated by the music and motion. She was very intwensely focused on it for a good 10 minutes while I chopped up a bag of pecans. then she decided that was enough brain activity for the time being, and took a nap. Life is rough, I tell ya!

addie's favorite things to do

1. Play with Uncle Tyler - he gives great fauxhawks!
2. Snuggle with Bestemor - she is so soothing, teaches me so much, and tastes good, too!

3. Stretch! I love to extend my arms and legs to their full length! And I'm getting exceptionally good at arching my back and working out my neck muscles!

4. Hang out with "Grandpa Jacks" as Bestemor calls him :) He is super snuggly and so comfortable! And he gives great hugs, too!

5. Hang out. Lounge around. Sleep. Life is good.

6. Burp. Yep. Burping's good.

7. Nestle down with the quilt Bestemor made me. . .it's been a long day!

Just thought y'all would like to know about my favorite activities...

The Bellybutton

Isn't it cute?!? It's an outie. But it might become an innie when she builds up some body fat around it. She doesn't have any right now. At least not right there.


And in honor of the umbilical cord-free belly button, her first [non-sponge] bath!

Sigrid says: "Whoa. What's this? I haven't been surrounded by this much warm water in 16 days! I don't know what to think of this."
Sigrid says: "Well, I guess it's ok. I mean, how bad can little soap and water be?"

Sigrid says: "Oh my gosh. I just got a chill. Hey mom, keep that warm water splashing over my belly please! Stop taking pictures and warm me up!"

Sigrid says: "Yes, like that, thank you."

And there we have it. Who knew your granddaughter/neice was so verbal at 16 days old!?
